Flexible King / Twin Guestroom configuration

Midgard Country Estate

CHALLANGE

Given the diverse function possibilities at Midgard Country Estate hotel facilities, our focus was on designing a versatile standard guestroom layout to accommodate various needs – whether for couples, colleagues, or family and friends. Our objective was to craft an open plan, natural light filled space.

In particular, when catering to colleagues and friends sharing a room, our emphasis was on ensuring maximum privacy for each guest while upholding an environment that is open, spacious and comfortable.

SOLUTION

We created a distinct space within the guestroom to accommodate two three-quarter beds, that could either be pushed together to form a King room or separated to form a Twin room, offering the operator the flexibility as required.

In the bathroom area, we devised a layout where the wash-hand-basin, enclosed toilet (WC), and enclosed shower (with a drying area) are separate, allowing independent use.

This thoughtful design ensures complete privacy for both the toilet and shower.

Additionally, frosted glass doors for the shower and toilet contribute to an open-plan design, promoting the flow of natural sunlight throughout the bathroom area.

OUTCOME

The flexible standard guestroom layout has proven to be very successful, garnering endless positive feedback.

Consequently, it has almost doubled the selling possibilities of every standard guestroom, contributing to increased profitability and enhancing popularity for the O&L Leisure brand among both local Namibians and international travelers.
